This company, which seems to have operated in the 1950's to
1967, is
almost
unknown from a time, location and corporate standpoint, but
those who
know
and care about costume jewelry find much of what they produced,
desirable.
Almost all pieces were cast, or majorly cast, probably what is
called pot-metal, and gold plated. Some are cold enameled, a
few, even on the back.
A small number of designs are found using sheet metal
components attached to castings and painted.
Rhinestones of an unusual nature seemed to be popular, such as
the dragon stones, and the stones used on the cobra pieces.
Plastics found use on the Oriental (Chinaman?) designs. Beads
were also incorporated into designs of varying complexity.
Information in the US Copyright office indicates this
brand was
produced by Hargo Creations.
Much like several other 1950s and 60s companies, little is known
about
the owners and designers, but the following is recorded
Edith Levitt and Joe Heilbronner were the owners, perhaps?
naming
the
company for their children, Hans and Margo.
It is also recorded that Mr Heilbronner died in 1968
